See you in Barranquilla: the alliances behind a true payment orchestration

This week we will be in Barranquilla to participate as attendees in the Latam Fintech Market, the Colombia Fintech gathering taking place on September 17 and 18. At PinguinoPay, we are eager to reconnect with our allies, meet new teams, and explore integrations that expand our platform's capabilities.

We are also bringing a conversation that we believe is necessary: what does it really mean to be a payment orchestrator, and how do you evaluate who to trust with the coordination of your global disbursements?

The value of meeting lies in what we build afterward

A good conversation between allies can help resolve something that had been pending for weeks: understanding an operational need, identifying an integration opportunity, or discovering that two teams are working on complementary parts of the same problem.

That is why we value these gatherings. They allow us to hear firsthand what businesses need, how providers are evolving, and where difficulties still exist in moving money between markets.

For an orchestration platform, those conversations are part of the job. Each integration requires clarity regarding coverage, times, responsibilities, support, and responsiveness when an operation goes differently than expected.

The real result of networking is seen after the event, when a conversation turns into a useful integration, an operational improvement, or a relationship of trust.

Our role: second-tier orchestration with concierge-style service

At PinguinoPay, we define ourselves as a second-tier payment orchestration platform with integrated compliance for global disbursements.

We use "second-tier" to describe our position within the payment chain: a technological and operational layer that connects and coordinates the capabilities of different allies. Our role consists of organizing this infrastructure so that businesses can manage their disbursements from a unified experience.

This model also defines our relationship with clients. We work with high-value clients whose global operations require support that goes beyond contact with a sales representative. They need people who understand their business, know their priorities, and accompany the management of their payments.

For us, that means concierge-style service: a close and personalized service, with continuity from the initial integration through to daily operations, and follow-up when an exception arises.

A client who needs to coordinate disbursements in several countries values being able to speak with a team that already knows their context. This proximity makes it possible to anticipate needs, guide decisions, and coordinate the response with the involved allies.

It is a philosophy that we also share at Pinguino BPO, where we have explained why long-term relationships and personalized attention are fundamental to our service model. Technology provides scale; customer knowledge allows us to accompany it with judgment.

“Payment orchestration”: an expression that demands substance

In our conversations with the market, we are hearing the term payment orchestration more and more. This increased presence opens up an opportunity to better explain its value, but it also raises a question: are we facing a real operational capability or just a trendy label?

As we detailed in our article on the orchestration behind modern global payments, different markets require different financial capabilities. The value of a platform lies in how it coordinates those capabilities and makes them easy to use.

Connecting multiple providers can be part of orchestration. Evaluating a solution also requires understanding how it manages the operation, what visibility it offers, and how it responds when exceptions appear.

Before choosing an orchestrator for global payments, it is worth asking:

  • What does it actually coordinate? How does it decide which provider or route to use for each disbursement?

  • What can it prove? Which integrations are operational and what limitations exist by country, currency, or ally?

  • What happens when a payment fails? How is it detected, who handles it, and how is a retry prevented from generating a duplicate?

  • What traceability does it offer? Is it possible to track the disbursement, understand its status, and reconcile the result?

  • How does it incorporate compliance? What controls does it apply and how are responsibilities distributed?

  • Who accompanies the client after the sale? Is there a team that knows their operation and can coordinate the handling of an incident?

Trust is built on demonstrable capabilities, clear boundaries, and operational responsibility. Human support must also be part of that evaluation.

Orchestration must be visible in the operation

One way to evaluate a proposal is to observe how it resolves a concrete need. In the case of RYPL and the centralization of its global disbursements with Pinguino, the challenge was managing payments for a team distributed across different markets, with fragmented providers and processes.

Centralization allowed these disbursements to be gathered into a single operational flow, using different financial routes according to the conditions of each destination. This type of application helps bring the conversation down to earth: what work the platform simplifies and how it responds to business complexity.

Compliance must also accompany this process. In our proposal, validations and controls are integrated into the operation in coordination with the financial allies involved. This requires clarity regarding the required information, the conditions of each service, and the responsibilities of each participant.

For the client, concierge-style service means having support to understand and manage those requirements, with monitoring and context throughout the process.

Let's talk in Barranquilla

We are going to Barranquilla to listen, strengthen relationships, and meet potential allies who want to integrate with PinguinoPay.

We look for teams that provide payment infrastructure, disbursement capabilities, and market knowledge, and who share our way of understanding service: solid technology, clear responsibilities, and close support.

See you at Latam Fintech Market. The next integrations can start with a good conversation.
